Penny On Call is a trading name of Phillip Humphreys, a sole trader registered in England and Wales.

These terms apply when you use Penny On Call ("we", "us", "the service").
What the service does
Penny is an AI receptionist that answers your phone, chats with your customers by text, and sends you the lead details. She's designed for UK tradespeople and small businesses.
What the service doesn't do
- Penny is not an emergency service. Don't rely on her for urgent or safety-critical calls.
- We can't guarantee 100% uptime. Occasionally things go wrong with phones, networks, or AI. We'll do our best to fix issues quickly.
- Penny may occasionally get things wrong. She's AI, not human. You should always confirm details with your customers.
Your customers' data
When Penny chats with your customers, she collects their name, phone number, and what they need. You are responsible for letting your customers know their details are being handled by an AI receptionist service. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Payment
- New subscribers start with a 14-day free trial. Your card is registered at signup but not charged until day 15.
- If you cancel during the trial, you won't be charged.
- After the trial, the service is billed monthly via Stripe at the current price.
- Your subscription renews automatically each month. We'll email you before each renewal.
- You can cancel anytime. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
Guarantees and promotional offers
- 30-day lead guarantee — If Penny captures fewer than 3 leads in your first 30 days (counting from when you signed up, including the trial period), you get a full refund of your first payment. You must claim this by emailing hello@pennyoncall.com within 7 days of the 30-day mark. A "lead" means a unique inbound enquiry captured by Penny.
- Introductory pricing — £49/month is an introductory rate for early customers. We may change the price for new subscribers in future, but existing customers keep their current rate for as long as their subscription remains active.
Guarantees apply to your first subscription period only. We may withdraw promotional offers at any time for new customers.
Your right to cancel
You can cancel at any time. If you cancel during your free trial, you won't be charged at all. After the trial, cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — no partial-month refunds.
Because you sign up online, you also have a 14-day legal cooling-off right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
To cancel, email hello@pennyoncall.com or cancel through your account. We'll process any refund within 14 days.
Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate business information so Penny can do her job properly.
- Let your customers know their enquiries are handled by an AI receptionist on your behalf.
- Don't use the service for anything illegal or harmful.
- Don't try to trick, hack, or abuse Penny or our systems.
Our responsibilities
- We'll keep the service running and fix problems as quickly as we can.
- We'll keep your data safe and handle it as described in our Privacy Policy.
- We'll give you reasonable notice before making changes that affect you.
Liability
We're a small company doing our best. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid us in the last 3 months. We're not liable for lost business, missed calls due to outages, or anything Penny says that turns out to be wrong. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death, personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll email you about any significant changes.
Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you have a complaint, please email us first at hello@pennyoncall.com and we'll do our best to sort it out. If we can't resolve it between us, you can refer the matter to an alternative dispute resolution provider. More information is available at Citizens Advice.
